Leading performing arts’ franchise hooks up with successful movie Sing 2

Razzamataz Theatre Schools and top Hollywood studio come together to celebrate Blu-ray release of blockbuster musical.

Universal Pictures and Razzamataz Theatre Schools have joined forces to celebrate the news that the musical SING 2 became available this week via Blu-ray. Sing 2 enjoyed rave reviews from critics and audiences alike when it was unleashed on cinemas around the country in January of this year.

Among the musical’s star-studded cast are Matthew McConaughey, Scarlett Johansson, Taron Egerton, U2’s frontman Bono, and Tori Kelly. Sing 2 is a singing and dancing animated film from the studios of Universal Pictures who have described it as being ‘fun for the whole family’.

This Blu-ray release includes two mini movies that have never been seen before, along with outtakes and interactive fun, plus much, much more. Razzamataz Schools will also be delivering their own Sing 2 workshops for more than 7,000 students across the UK.

Razzamataz students were given an opportunity to chat to choreographer Sherrie Silver who contributed to the film’s release by demonstrating a few dance routines on its Blu-ray product. This exclusive access enabled Razzamataz youngsters to enjoy a unique behind the scenes look at the filmmaking process.

Sherrie has worked with performers such as Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Rita Ora, and she told the students: “I had a fantastic time working on the movie and I am so excited that you’ll be learning one of the film’s dance routines to celebrate its release on Home Entertainment.”

Denise Hutton-Gosney, the managing director and founder of Razzamataz, said: “We are so proud to work with the team at Universal Pictures UK to bring these wonderful opportunities to our students.

“The film is a celebration of performing arts, which is something we champion in our schools. The film shows how participation in the arts can teach you different life skills and build confidence and resilience. These are certainly qualities that we promote at Razzamataz.”

Established in 2000, Razzamataz Theatre Schools offers top class tuition and training in dance, drama and singing. The brand enjoyed a significant boost 15 years ago when Denise Hutton-Gosney appeared on the BBC‘s flagship programme Dragons’ Den and successfully secured new investment from Duncan Bannatyne as she sought to expand her business.

This successful franchise business is on the lookout for new partners all over the UK, and would be interested to hear from those who have a passion for performing arts and are keen to make a positive difference to their local community.
