Thanks to a decade and more of continued business growth, the Oxfordshire couple of Jon and Lisa Parker were named as winners of the Great British Franchisee Awards for 2023. This prestigious annual event recognises the UK’s leading franchisees, across a whole range of industries within the nation’s franchising network.
Jon and Lisa, who own the Drain Doctor territory of Oxford, have been in business for just over 11 years, and have increased the company’s turnover and profit ‘year on year’. Drain Doctor is an emergency plumbing and drainage business, with headquarters in Brackley, Northamptonshire.
The Great British Franchisee Awards was established to encourage and promote exceptional performance in all areas of business, such as growth, staff retention, customer satisfaction, community involvement, inspired leadership and franchise involvement.
A statement from the panel of judges, with regards to the success enjoyed by Drain Doctor Oxford, reads: “This is an impressive application and demonstrates how the franchise owners have taken a different direction to growing the business. They moved away from working ‘in the business’ to working ‘on the business,’ with the support and advice from the franchisor. Jon and Lisa clearly know their business inside out and seem to be operating a solid franchise.”
Jon, who is one half of this successful husband-and-wife enterprise, added: “We are delighted to have received such a prestigious award. Since starting the business 11 years ago, turnover and profit has increased year on year.
