Sparkle Cleaning helps the UK cleaning industry

There are many cleaning companies in business who have been affected negatively by the current COVID-19 pandemic. 2020 has witnessed the top third of cleaning companies fly, the middle third stay static and many of the bottom third are struggling.

Gareth Sanders of Sparkle Cleaning wants to help those who are struggling, he promised himself that when he went into business he would help as many of those in the industry as he could. Whether this is through employing well, through supporting their clients with extra services during these hard times, or finding ways to support struggling cleaning businesses by welcoming them into the Sparkle Cleaning family.

Family comes first

Gareth built Sparkle Cleaning on solid values based upon his previous experience in career and business and one of those important values is ‘Family comes First’.

“I have worked in companies before where I have not been valued and I know how that feels and I never wanted that for our business. Historically, cleaners have not always been treated well by their employers or by the clients they work for, and we believe cleaning is a valuable career – not just a minimum wage job. I believe it’s important that when people go to work they feel like they are part of a family. It’s vital that employees are in a place where they can take ownership of their work, and they have a part to play in a team.”

“We are so much more than a group of people who are good at cleaning – we are a family that mixes fun with professionalism. We recruit people who love being part of a team, and who will work hard to support one another. This makes us trustworthy, both as a company to deal with and as colleagues to work with.”

The ethos behind ‘Family comes First’ extends well beyond the direct employees of Sparkle Cleaning but also to their clients, to their franchisees, and to future franchise owners.

Supporting others

During difficult and uncertain financial times Gareth feels like it’s important to those businesses that are flourishing to be able to help those who are not. For example, he has created a new level of franchise, an associate franchise, that is designed to help those cleaning companies that have been in business for at least 2 years but are currently struggling. Those who join the scheme are able to keep all their existing clients but can take advantage of the Sparkle Cleaning marketing and sales training as well as having a host of support on standby.

“The Associate Franchise Package is for those cleaning companies who have been in business for at least 2 years and who have been affected by the pandemic and are currently struggling. We want to hear from anyone who fits these criteria as they could be eligible to join us as an associate.”

To help and support those who have recently been made redundant, Gareth is creating a guide to support the mental health and wellbeing of those going through this type of sudden change. When redundancy happens, it can feel like the worst thing in the world. You might be embarrassed to speak with your loved ones, or feel angry towards your previous employers. It is completely natural to feel this way. It’s important to remember that it isn’t personal. When a company has to make teams redundant, it’s usually done with considerable thought and reluctance. The good news for you is this setback can turn into a great positive, if handled in the right way.

With advice based upon his own experiences, Gareth sets out several steps that will help others create a positive situation from redundancy. This guide will be available via the website shortly.
