Tutor Doctor welcomes two new business partners to ever-expanding franchise network

The UK’s tutoring specialists continue to enjoy a boom period despite year of lockdown and restrictions.

Adie Twining and Dave Simkin have become the latest franchisees to launch businesses with Tutor Doctor. Adie’s territory covers Salisbury and Southampton, while Dave has set up camp in the Oxfordshire town of Witney. Both underwent their virtual training during early spring and are now ready to serve their local communities, as lockdown restrictions around the UK begin to ease.

As for Adie, he already has a sizeable amount of experience within the franchise sector, having worked for a large multi-national company which designs and implements growth strategies for franchise businesses.

He’s now facing life as a new franchisee and explains: “I’ve always admired Tutor Doctor from afar. With an outstanding reputation for innovation, as well as supporting franchisees and delivering excellence, this franchise was an easy choice when it came to launching my own business.

“I was impressed by the sense of community among the company’s franchisees, as well as their eagerness to support each other. Combining the knowledge I have learnt during training, added to my own past experiences within the world of franchising, along with my existing knowledge of the Tutor Doctor network, I know I’m in a good place to create a successful business.”

Despite the last 15 months being a difficult time for all businesses, amid the on-going Coronavirus pandemic, tuition has actually enjoyed a period of sustained growth. During the past year, the franchisees of Tutor Doctor have delivered tens of thousands of tutoring hours to students across the UK.

As the country emerges from the latest national lockdown, parents have identified the need to maintain their children’s education, which may have been badly affected because of school closures due to Covid. And new franchisee David said: “Tutor Doctor provides a supplement to classroom learning, and this level of support is something I would desire for my own son when he reaches school age.

“Irrespective of Covid, I see a growing need in the UK for additional support for students, because school classes seem to be getting bigger and bigger. I think I speak for every franchisee when I say it’s my goal to assist students to achieve their goals. I want to make a difference and I’m now in a position to do just that.”

And the company’s president, Frank Milner, echoed David’s comments, by adding: “Savvy business owners are recognising the potential in extra-curricular support. Tutoring has grown as a result.

“There is absolutely no denying that the past year hasn’t been without its challenges. However, seeing individuals invest in our services makes up for those times. Like every other business, we’ve been tested, but we’ve come through it stronger and ready to drive forwards.”

Tutor Doctor was recently honoured at the 2021 Global Franchise Awards, when it was Highly Commended in the category Best Children’s Services & Education Franchise. Frank continues: “With the award commendation behind us, and the inevitable attention from parents during the last academic term, we’re even more committed in our mission to change the trajectory of children’s lives.”
